2. Files You Upload

When you upload a file for conversion:

• Your file is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS to our servers
• The file is stored temporarily in an isolated, encrypted storage container
• Conversion runs in a sandboxed process that cannot access other users' files
• The output file is made available for download
• Both input and output files are automatically and permanently deleted within 2 hours
• Files are never read for content, analyzed for business purposes, sold, or shared with any third party
• Files are never used to train AI or machine learning models

3. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to operate the service:

• Log data: IP addresses and request timestamps for security monitoring, retained for 7 days
• Usage analytics: Anonymized, aggregated tool usage counts (no personal identifiers)
• Error reporting: Technical error logs for debugging, retained for 30 days, no file contents
• Preferences: A single browser localStorage value for your dark/light theme preference

We do not collect: names, email addresses, account information (there are no accounts), payment information, or browsing history.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use zero third-party tracking cookies. No Google Analytics. No Facebook Pixel. No advertising cookies. The only local storage key set is theme for your display preference. We do not use fingerprinting, session recording, or any behavioral tracking technology.

• CDN provider: For delivering the application code (no file uploads routed through CDN)

ConvertMania provides free online file conversion tools. You may convert files from one format to another without creating an account, paying any fee, or having files watermarked. Core free tools will remain free. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but existing free features will not be removed or degraded.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload or convert malware, viruses, ransomware, or any malicious code
• Convert files containing illegal content including but not limited to CSAM
• Convert files that infringe third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights without authorization
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent file security measures, rate limits, or access controls
• Use automated scripts or bots to make bulk conversion requests beyond what a human would reasonably generate
• Resell, sublicense, or misrepresent the Service as your own without explicit written permission

4. Your Files and Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all files you upload. You represent and warrant that you have the right to convert the files you upload (you own them, or have explicit permission from the rights holder). We claim no ownership, license, or intellectual property rights over your uploaded files or conversion outputs beyond what is strictly necessary to perform the conversion service.

5. Service Availability and SLA

We strive for 99.5% uptime but make no guarantees. Planned maintenance windows are announced via our status page. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We recommend always keeping backups of your original files. ConvertMania is not responsible for data loss resulting from service interruptions.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ConvertMania and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ConvertMania from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

8. Governing Law
